Negligence – Schwarz Suspended

Has right of appeal against penalty imposed

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held at the Vaal Racecourse on Thursday, 26 August 2021, Jockey Denis Schwarz was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.4.

The particulars being that he rode MY KINGDOM in a negligent manner by failing to take the necessary corrective measures to prevent MY KINGDOM shifting out and carrying WATUSI outwards significantly, in Race 5 run over 1800m at Turffontein Racecourse on Sunday, 15 August 2021.

Jockey Schwarz pleaded guilty to the charge and was found guilty by the Board.

The Inquiry Board after considering the mitigating factors presented, imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven (7) days.

Jockey Schwarz has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
