In a brisk first session of on an historic 40th anniversary of the National Yearling Sale at Germiston on Wednesday, Form Bloodstock signed for the session topper, a daughter of Trippi out of Ilha Grande by Tiger Ridge, which sold for R2 500 000.
She was catalogued as lot 142 and bred and consigned by Wilgerbosdrift Stud. The beautiful filly is named Lara Yara and word is that she will be trained by Dean Kannemeyer.
The sales topping colt came from Varsfontein Stud (Lot 53).
He is named Varallo, and is a son of Var out of the high-class racemare Covenant by Western Winter. He was knocked down to top KZN owner Alesh Naidoo for R2 million.
Kevin Woolward, the CEO of BSA said “It was a solid start to the first day and it was pleasing to see that the middle market was up. We still have a lot of nice horses to come in the next two days.”
