Day one of the 2015 National 2-Y-O Sale ended with solid returns in general. Both the aggregate and average were up on last year’s figures, with the aggregate up by nearly 8% – the first day of trading’s gross total increased from R11.61 million in 2014 to R12.47 million this year.
Pleasingly, both the average and median rose from last year, with the average climbing by over 32% from R73 481 to R97 422.
The sale’s median rose by ten percent, and climbed from R50 000 twelve months ago to R55 000.
TBA’s CEO Kevin Woolward was realistic about the first day of trading. He commented, “We had some very nice horses fetching some very nice prices, and I was delighted by the wide spread of buyers at the sale. The ongoing support of Kenyan and Zimbabwean buyers is also a positive to take out of the sale thus far, and I am confident of some solid prices on the second day.”
