Muscutt’s Quasiforsure Could Be A Genuine July Hope

Hollywoodbets Durban July - preferential consideration ticket

The penultimate preferential consideration event for qualification in the final field of 20, which will include two reserves, for the Hollywoodbets Durban July, the World Sports Betting Gr2 1900 will see 12 runners line up at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday.

In a quality field, it is only Sean Tarry’s one-eyed galloper Indlamu who is not amongst the 48 remaining prospects for the big race on 1 July.

Highest rated of the Hollywoodbets Durban July hopefuls in Saturday’s Gr2 contest is Vaughan Marshall’s Anthonij Rupert Wyne Gr2 Premier Trophy winner Rascallion, who ran a cracking fifth and only 2,75 lengths behind Kommetdieding in the 2022 renewal of Africa’s greatest race.

The son of Vercingetorix has not run since finishing sixth and two lengths off Jet Dark in the Cape Town Met.

Recent Jonsson Workwear Gr1 Computaform Sprint winning trainer Peter Muscutt has high hopes for his Quasillo 4yo Quasiforsure, a winner of 5 of his 8 starts, and the horse that only lost the Listed Jet Master Stakes in the Cape summer season due to a blunder by his jockey.

Quasiforsure is joint favourite with Paraca (28-10).

This will be Quasiforsure’s big chance to put his hand up as a genuine big race prospect – and he certainly looks capable of upping his game again.
