Camps Bay The Banker Destination

First race is off at 13h00

A new week starts off with a meeting in the Mother City at Kenilworth Racecourse today.

There are eight races carded and the main event is Race 7 which is a Merit Rated 93 Handicap over the 1000m. Mr Cobbs and Skidoo renew their rivalry once again and an exciting race can be expected.

The first race is due off at 13h00.

Camps Bay from the Brett Crawford stable looks to be the banker in the first leg of the Place Accumulator.

Anton Marcus rides Camps Bay in race 2 today. (Pic-Candiese Lenferna)

He showed good improvement to finish second in his first run as a gelding. He showed good speed last time, but was outrun in the latter stages.

The son of Var should strip much fitter today and Anton Marcus may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Trainer Piet Botha saddles Miss Millstream in Race 4. She was a tad disappointing in her last start over the minimum trip.

Her form prior to that outing was decent. She takes a slight drop in class today and it is encouraging that Luyolo Mxothwa steps back into steps back into the saddle.

The daughter of Elusive Fort should have no issues with the mile and she may be the one to side with.

The summer course false rail is 1m out from the 1800m mark with a 5m spur at the 600m mark. The start is forward of zero by 5m.

  • The Bipot starts in the first at 13h00
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second at 13h35
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third at 14h10
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fourth race at 14h45
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the fifth race at 15h20

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
