In a press release dated 31 March 2014, Mike Bass Racing confirmed that Robert Fayd’Herbe will be rejoining the team in an assistant trainer capacity with effect from 1 April. The veteran Cape champion trainer is glad to have him back. “We have a long term plan for Robert, he has worked under me for many years and understands my training methodology. He is a talented young horseman and looking towards the future , we would like to grow the business with Robert in mind.”
Robert will head up Mike Bass Racing’s Clairwood base for the forthcoming Durban season. The first half of the stable’s KZN draft were dispatched to Clairwood over the weekend and include Seven Grand, Alascan Maiden, Pure Power, Fly By Night, Hammie’s Hooker, Castlethorpe, Global Express, Night Trip, Muscatt and Gifted For Glory. The remainder of the string will follow at the end of April.
The yard will be open their KZN campaign in the KRA Fillies Guineas with the talented Drakenstein Stud bred filly, Lanner Falcon and the Sporting Post would like to take this opportunity to wish Mike, Rob and the team all the best.
