Darling Mare Has Been Rehomed

Rescue mare gets happy ending

Medoca

Medoca

Earlier this week, the Sporting Post ran a story about Medoca, a grey mare confiscated from a farm in Darling by the SPCA.

Thanks to the combined effort of the public, the racing community, the NHA and the SPCA, the mare was signed over by her previous owner and relocated to the Grassy Park SPCA on Monday, 23 May 2016.

Happy ending

We are pleased to report that thanks to a huge response from the media and the public, the mare has been rehomed. A delighted Cape of Good Hope SPCA CEO Allan Perrins contacted us to say, “We have been swamped with requests to adopt Medoca and I can confirm that we have found her a wonderful new home in Noordhoek.”

We wish Medoca, and her new owners, the very best of luck.
