The 2020 Mauritius racing season will finally get under way on Saturday June 20 with their totes open on weekdays from 09h00 to 16h00 for deposits and withdrawals only.
The racing will take place behind closed doors until further notice, and the Champ de Mars and its surroundings will be a restricted area.
Thus, from 10h00 on the day of the races, only holders of a special permit will be allowed access, and the presence of 275 people has been confirmed by the GRA.
In addition, all MTC employees will undergo rapid tests for Covid-19.
It should be noted that, under such conditions, the bookmakers will not be involved. Only bets by sms, telephone and mobile application will be taken.
Under these restrictions the Tote counters, both at Champ de Mars and ‘off course’, will only accept deposits and withdrawals to and from Teletote accounts. The opening hours of the counters will be from 09h00 to 16h00 on weekdays.
This week both 2019 Mauritius Horse Of The Year White River and his former stablemate, Gr1 winner Undercover Agent, put up decent work and they can be expected to run in a few weeks.
Declarations for final fields have moved forward from the regular Thursday slot to Wednesdays.
