Marco Could Conquer The Last

First race off @ 12h10

Racing takes place at Turffontein this afternoon and nine races are carded.

There are two feature races including the Grade 3 Sycamore Sprint and the Listed Jacaranda Handicap.

The first is due off at 12h10.

Kindly note that jockeys Muzi Yeni & S’Manga Khumalo will not be riding this afternoon.

A reminder again that the revamped free-to-enter Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge is now run on all local racemeetings, as well as on Singapore and Hong Kong fixtures.

Get your entry in today by 12h00 latest, please!

The new prize payouts formulae means that besides the R5 000 daily must-be-won prize, which is allocated to the top 20 finishers on the leaderboard for every challenge race meeting, the all-or-nothing 100% clean sheet jackpot prize will now be determined by the number of runners at the race meeting, multiplied by R10 000 per unit, for all venues.

And as an added incentive, every player who wagers R50 or more on the Bet Slip generated by the Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge entry, will automatically have their potential winning payout from the competition, doubled!

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Corne Spies saddles Cian The Conqueror and he may be the horse to close off the meeting.

He followed up his debut victory with a good fourth-place finish over 1160m on this course. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was eye-catching.

The son of William Longsword will strip a much fitter horse.

He looks to be above average and should take the power of beating.

Lunar Ballade from the Alec Laird stable takes her place in Race 5.

She finished 0.5 lengths behind Bee In My Bonnet last time.

She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Querari will strip a much fitter horse today.

With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of nine, she may be the one to beat.
