Marchfield (AP Indy) – will he land the title of Canada’s Leading First Crop Sire for 2014
Moutonshoek’s exciting young sire Marchfield is currently fighting to win the title of Canada’s Leading First Crop Sire for 2014.
The son of A P Indy is currently second on the list – but less than $20 000 behind current leader Not Bourbon.
Canada’s leading first crop sire for the year looks set to be decided this weekend, where both Marchfield and Not Bourbon will be represented by runners in the $125 000 Kingarvie Stakes at Woodbine.
Not Bourbon’s representative is Java’s Bourbon, while his rival is the sire of Kingarvie starter Bear At Last.
Marchfield, to date, has been represented by five first crop winners, while Not Bourbon has three to his tally.
Come what may on Saturday, Marchfield has made an outstanding start to stud career – given that he himself earned his two Sovereign Awards as a four and five year old respectively.

A millionaire sired by Horse Of The Year and champion sire A P Indy (the sire of over 150 stakes winners), Marchfield hails from the hottest male line in North America.
