This is quite a feather in the cap for the champion son of A P Indy, with Marchfield runners having earned over $780 000 up to the end of 2015.
Marchfield’s total places him well clear of runner up Not Bourbon, with former G1 Hollywood Gold Cup winner Mast Track finishing back in third position on the Canadian table.
Marchfield himself finished the year on the National Log ahead of such notable performers as Afleet Express (G1 Travers Stakes), Bullsbay (G1 Whitney Handicap) and All American (G1 Emirates Stakes) –to name a few.
To date, the millionaire and dual champion has been represented by 21 individual winners, including the classic placed colt Field Of Courage –and the best looks yet to come from Marchfield and his progeny.
Marchfield has a strong draft of 14 yearlings on offer at the upcoming Val De Vie Yearling Sale. His draft includes a colt from the family of exciting filly Negroamaro (Lot 33), a colt from the immediate family of G1 winner Captain America (Lot 66), a filly whose dam is a half sister to multiple G1 winner Ingleside (lot 75), and a colt who is intensely inbred to breed shaping sire Red Ransom (Lot 99).
His sire A P Indy continues to make his mark as a sire of sires, with his sons Bernardini, Malibu Moon, and Pulpit (the sire of current champion US sire Tapit) dominating US graded features.
