Trainer Mike de Kock sends out Marauding Horde in Race 2 and he is the best bet on the programme.

He produced a promising debut effort over 1400m at Turffontein. The son of Vercingetorix was settled at the rear of the field that day and caught the eye in the straight.

He would have come on from the run and should love the rise to the mile. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.

Karangetang from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable takes his place in Race 8. He showed some signs of a form return in the Gr3 Betway Lebelo Sprint last time.

He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this course and distance.

The son of Erupt is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. On best form shown, he should be the one to beat.

Jockey Jarryd Penny will not be riding today.
