Do You Punt, Maps?

Twenty Questions For Maps

e6169379f24dc93829e91b8235984d2db26998ecc079aa4ad9dedb07d4af0f02I read the profile about Maps Maponyane, the new Racing Its A Rush Ambassador, in this weekend’s Sporting Post.

I admit I am a touch confused.I cannot see the synchronicity between his world of high fashion, image farming, social whirls and general moving and shaking to our community and world of horseracing on the ground.

He is being paid by the industry that we fund, so we need to find out what we are really paying for.

I wonder if he wouldn’t mind answering these questions:

How can he help South African racing and its public?

How long has he been in the game?

What is his punting record?

Maps Maponyane – is he the right guy?

How much does he wager a week and how many times a week does he punt?

Which racing publication does he buy?

Does his heart skip a beat when he opens a race-card?

Does he know which website to view future nominations on and other racing information?

Has he ever been into the Randburg,Umhlanga or Atlantis totes?

When he walks into a tote or betting shop,do people recognise him and does he have friends there that greet him?

Does he own or has he ever bought a racehorse and paid keep?

Which Trainers and Jockeys does he socialise with?

Would he cancel a date, gym session or fashion shoot to watch the gallops?

Is he doing this for the money – Or for the love of the game?

Please provide your concise honest answers to the Sporting Post.

Yours Faithfully
