Lucky Lad A Banker Prospect

First race off at 11h45

An exciting nine-race programme is scheduled for Hollywoodbets Scottsville this afternoon.

There is a Jackpot of Grade 1 races including the Allan Robertson Championship, Gold Medallion, South African Fillies Sprint and the Golden Horse Sprint.

The first is due off at 11h45, and the carryover Jackpot, projected to reach R3 million, is off at 14h03.

A reminder too that the Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge is a great chance to win big!

Lucky Lad from the Sean Tarry stable takes his place in the Grade 1 Gold Medallion.

He was super-impressive when winning the Grade 2 WSB SA Nursery last time.

He did not get off to the best of starts but quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. The son of Gimmethegreenlight is loaded with class and if all went well with his travels, he should keep his unbeaten record intact.

Trainer Paul Matchett saddles Manz Knight in Race 2.

He is better than his last start over 1800m on the Vaal Classic course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. His penultimate run when third over 2000m was encouraging. Luyolo Mxothwa takes the ride and he may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most.

Grant van Niekerk is not riding today.
