Louis Is Set For Cruise Control

First due off @ 12h05

Today’s nine-race programme, previously carded for the turf track, has been moved to the polytrack at Fairview.

There are two feature races on this card – the Listed East Cape Oaks and the Non-Black Type Fairview Flying Five.

A reminder to take the free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge with the first race due off at 12h05 and the lucky last set for 16h45.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored Trainer Gavin Smith saddles Cruise Control in the Non-Black Type Fairview Flying Five.

He showed good speed in his last start on the polytrack, found another kick and won with a ton in hand.

Three of his nine career victories have come over this course and distance.

Sporting Post-sponsored Jockey Louis Mxothwa retains the ride and the son of Querari should notch up his tenth-career victory.

Gunsmoke from the Tara Laing stable may be the horse to close off the meeting.

He is much better than his last start over 1600m on the polytrack.

His form prior to that outing was consistent. He has won twice and finished second once from five starts over this course and distance.

He has cracked a good draw of three and Devin Ashby will give of his best to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
