A 6-10 favourite with Hollywoodbets to lift the national champion jockey title this term, Winning Form kingpin Richard Fourie starts his 2023/24 title chase with nine rides for Alan Greeff at Fairview today.

Here’s the national jockey title betting details.

It’s a committed and busy start as Richard then travels up to Johannesburg for the Saturday meeting at Turffontein and down to Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday – and then will be back at home at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Tuesday.

He is on record that he is one hundred percent committed to the title chase and that his target for the season would be to ride 300 winners.

Hollywoodbets have put R1 million up for the taking for the first jockey to beat Anthony Delpech’s longstanding season record of 334 winners. So there is plenty to play for!

Fairview plays host to a nine-race programme on the polytrack this afternoon. It is an early start to the day with the first due off at 11h35.

Amazing Colours from the Sharon Kotzen stable takes her place in Race 2. She has finished second in her last four starts.

She raced from a handy position over 1300m last time but found one too good in the form of Baby Love.

It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Heavenly Blue tries the blinkers for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand.

Trainer Tara Laing saddles Chroniclesofnania in Race 7. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she raced wide around the turn.

The manner in which she stayed on at the business end that day was encouraging. The daughter of Louis The King will be at home over 1900m. She jumps from pole position and can notch up her third career victory.

  • The Bipot starts in the second race at 12h05
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third race at 12h35
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth race at 13h05
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 13h45
  • The second Jackpot starts in the sixth race at 14h25
