Cape trainer Brett Crawford is another visitor to have made a cracking start to his KZN campaign. He saddled the first two home in Sunday’s R135 000 Listed The Scarlet Lady at Scottsville. Bernard Fayd’herbe rode a confident race on the well backed and still improving Dancing Dynasty.

It is quite remarkable that a  late 5yo can be capable of such improvement and Dancing Dynasty has flourished with Brett Crawford. She  has won both her starts since relocating  from Stephen Page’s yard.

Backed from 14 to 1 into slim single figures, the result was never in doubt although there were nervous moments at the top of the straight.

Bernard Fayd’herbe  has been aboard at both her wins and patently knew what he had under him when seemingly way out of his ground at the 400m marker as the field fanned out with Royal Denise holding Resolution and Supercede, with plenty in with a money chance.

Switching in, Fayd’herbe produced Dancing Dynasty from ten lengths back and she ran right away from her feld with only her stablemate chasing.

She won by 5 lengths in a time of 109,53 secs, with Supercede in third and the course specialist Hijacked in fourth.

Bernard Fayd’herbe said that Dancing Dynasty was quite a light filly but that it was a good win and she appeared to be coming into her own.

Assistant trainer Barry Donnelly, who was on course with Crawford attending the NYS, said that Bernard Fayd’herbe rode a very good race and that the winner had turned the corner and should continue to improve.

Dancing Dynasty  is by Dynasty out of the four time winning Northfields mare, Southern Pride.

She was bred by Mr & Mrs  Pott,in whose emerald, gold and brown silks she races.

Dancing Dynasty has won 4 races with 4 places from 18 starts and R294 280.
