SA champion trainer Sean Tarry followed up on his Summer Cup day victory celebrations when he saddled a feature winner in both major centres on Saturday.

Tarry has an extraordinary depth to his attack and just minutes before his SA Horse Of The Year Legal Eagle had cleaned up in the Gr2 Green Point Stakes at Kenilworth, promising Avontuur-sponsored apprentice Lyle Hewitson booted home his second Tarry winner at Turffontein when Matador Man won the R150 000 Listed Secretariat Stakes.
Stepped up to the 1400m after his recent Vaal 1200m maiden success at his third start, Matador Man was easy to back, but won like a horse with a future.

The market was dominated by Mike Azzie’s Captain Von Trapp, Romi’s Boy (who set a good pace) and recent Ready To Run Cup placer, Act Of Loyalty.
But none of the three featured in the finish, with Hewitson producing Matador Man down the inside to hold his stablemate Tilbury Fort to 1,75 lengths in a time of 85,08 secs.
In a Place Accumulator shake-up, Misty Roller ran on into third.
The Scott Bros bred Matador Man is by Toreador out of the four-time winning Mogok mare, Sahara.
His lightly raced full brother Desert Fighter has won three times for Dennis Drier.
Matador Man was signed for by the Tawny Syndicate at R180 000 at the 2015 National 2yo Sale and has now won 2 races with 2 places from 4 starts for stakes of R177 000.
He also benefitted from the BSA Added Value Stakes Bonus of R77 500.
Andrew Fortune showed that he is ready for action after his return from injury when he scored a hat-trick on the afternoon to get the confidence going again.
