East Cape champion trainer Alan Greeff and his Winning Form-sponsored stable jockey Charles Ndlovu enjoyed a Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein-bred feature double at Fairview on Friday.
But while the Querari filly Herrin was a good winner of the Listed Lady’s Slipper, the turnaround in the form of the juvenile feature aggravated a few punters – although the Stipes appeared satisfied.

Five of the runners in the 1400m contest were very comfortably beaten by Eternal Hope last time out and, with that one along with the other two runners having finished a minimum of 9,75 lengths behind Favorita on her last trip up the Garden Route when a runaway winner of the East Cape Nursery, Friday’s result certainly takes some digesting.
Fair enough, Favorita was reported by the vet as not striding out behind.
But even so, how the Stipes didn’t launch a routine inquiry – it at least would show that they are doing their jobs – is puzzling. And Eternal Hope finished last of the eight beaten 22 lengths.
But the day belonged to the Alan Greeff yard, who grabbed four good winners.
Reported not striding out in the East Cape Fillies Nurser, and a well beaten third behind Global Drummer in the East Cape Nursery, Herrin (16-1) appeared to relish the step up in trip and powered home an easy winner ahead of Storyland (10-1) in a time of 88,96 secs.
The Cape raiding 6-10 Favorita was reported not striding out and ran fourth and 5,50 lengths off the winner.
A Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein bred daughter of Maine Chance stallion Querari (Oasis Dream), Herrin is out of the five time winning stakes-placed Erin (Fort Wood). She should go a trip in time.
Herrin has won 2 of 6 starts with 3 places for stakes of R106 800. She was a R110 000 buy from the 2019 National 2yo Sale.
The accomplished Soft Falling Rain 3yo World Radar (6-1) scored her first stakes success when an easy winner of the Listed East Cape Breeders Stakes, beating the fancied Elusive Heart (16-10) by 1,25 lengths in a time of 70,89 secs.

Charles Ndlovu again did the honours on the talented filly, who was reported in season when running unplaced at her last start.
World Radar is out of the once-winning Strike Smartly mare Advance Warning.
A R700 000 National Yearling Sale graduate, she is promising and has now won 4 races from 6 starts for stakes of R182 700.
Teaque Gould rode the two other Greeff winners – Captain’s Princess and Tawny Jet.
