Andrew Fortune bounced back to best at Fairview on Wednesday. The veteran rode a treble, including the afternoon’s feature, the R150 000 Listed Lady’s Bracelet, on the Justin Snaith-trained A Time To Dream.

With Friday’s focus on day one of the inaugural L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Festival, the Fairview racing fitted neatly into a rare midweek slot – with an attractive feature thrown in for good measure.
The Lady’s Bracelet has been dominated by the Cape visitors for some years now and Fortune hardly raised a sweat as he steered the Dynasty 4yo A Time To Dream through the centre at the 350m to take over from the pacesetter, Flash Mcqueen.

A Time To Dream, racing in the Mayfair Speculators silks, has proven great value for her CTS March Yearling sale price tag of R240 000, and took her earnings to R379 878, when drawing clear to record her second stakes win by 0,75 lengths in a time of 95,37 secs
The consistent Greys Inn mare Peach Delight – formerly with Dean Kannemeyer in KZN – came on strongly for second to show that a PE win is not far off.
The local 3yo Hurricane Shelley could only manage third.
The rest were well beaten.
Justin Snaith – Fairview double
Bred by Normandy Stud, A Time To Dream started 18-10 favourite and took her stats to 6 wins with 1 place from 11 starts.
She ran only just over 4 lengths off the ill-fated Illuminator in the inaugural CTS Million Dollar last year and has always looked decent.
Her record suggests she is a little in and out – but nobody can complain about a 50% career win strike-rate!
Her victory off a 12 week break was a feather in the cap for the undisputed training skills of Justin Snaith and she provided Fortune with the middle leg of a happy hat-trick.
He was at the controls of the 5yo Trippi gelding Afrikaburn who won the very next race, an MR 91 Handicap, to give Snaith Racing a double.
Fred Crabbia has stuck loyally to this fellow who last won as a 2yo – and then a Gr1 at that!
An interesting winner on the day was the 5yo first timer Classify who won the first race for Dorrie Sham.
The Ascot Stud-bred son of Sail From Seattle was originally bought by Adriaan van Vuuren for R400 000 at the August 2013 BSA National 2yo Sale.
The Shams subsequently picked him up for R5 000 at the BSA November dispersal sale last year. He won well and should go better over ground.
