Second stakes winner for Captain Of All

Trainer Tobie Spies saddled the R150 000 Listed Devon Air Stakes exacta at Greyville on Saturday and also provided Klawervlei sire Captain Of All with a second stakes winner.

Terry Andrews bred the winner What You Are, who finished too powerfully under Corne Orffer to beat her well-travelled stablemate Sapphire Rock by 1,50 lengths in a time of 86,14 secs.

Gavin van Zyl’s debutante Dancing Feather was 2.25 lengths back in third in a commendable start to her career.

The runner-up had placed third in a maiden plate in Kimberley just five days earlier!

The winner has earned stakes of R221 500, having won two races with three places from eights starts. She is out of six-time winning Counter Action mare Twinkle Star. Corne Spies signed the chit at R70 000 at the 2018 CTS April Yearling Sale.

The winner’s sire Captain Of All (Captain Al) won or placed in 11 of 12 outings and earned over R2.2 million.
