Enough Is The Trick

Australian-bred finds his best stride

After a frustrating SA Champions Season, the smart Pierro colt Roy Had Enough finally put a winning show together to end his 3yo term in good style at Greyville on Saturday.

The Frank Robinson-trained Australian-bred colt was on the fringes of the SA Classic won by the exported Lobo’s Legend and then had little luck in the Daily News and the Gold Challenge.

After failing to get into the Vodacom Durban July, he ran a poor race in the Consolation feature, running 9 lengths off Head Honcho.

On Saturday he bounced right back to best with a smooth victory in a quality field in the R150 000 Avontuur Darley Arabian.

Ridden by Warren Kennedy, he came home powerfully to beat Copper Force by 0,75 lengths in a time of 94,46 secs for the poly mile.

The runner-up ran second in the LÓrmarins Queen’s Plate earlier this year.

Roy Had Enough has won 5 races with 5 places from his 17 starts for stakes of R563 625

The colt was a A$95,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Element Hill draft for World Wide Bloodstock and was the first winner for Queens Plaza (Elusive Quality), an unraced daughter of dual Gr1 winner and Australian Oaks queen Danendri.

On the track, Pierro (Lonhro) won 11 of his 14 starts, sweeping the Sydney juvenile Gr1 grand slam of the Golden Slipper-Sires’ Produce-Champagne Stakes, and defeating his elders in two Gr1’s at three before retiring with earnings of A$4,536,650.
