Lerena Opens The Day With A Blizzard

First due off @ 12h05

Turffontein plays host to a nine-race programme on the Inside course this afternoon. The first is due off at 12h05 with the lucky last set for 16h45.

Don’t forget to take the free-to-play Punters’ Challenge on today’s local double-header.

Carryover Jackpots look attractive over for this weekend. Carryovers totalling R1 million make TAB’s Jackpot ONE a must-play bet over the next three local racemeetings.

Jackpot ONE details at the three meetings:

  • Hollywoodbets Durbanville Saturday 28 September: Leg 1 – Race 5 @ 13h30
  • Turffontein Saturday 28 September: Leg 1 – Race 5 @ 14h25
  • Hollywoodbets Greyville Sunday 29 September: Leg 1 – Race 4 @ 14h25
Gavin Lerena takes the ride on Far Reaching in Race 2 for JJ van Vuuren

Gavin Lerena takes the ride on Blizzard Snow for the Tony Peter stable (Pic – Chase Liebenberg)

Blizzard Snow from the Tony Peter stable should give punters a good start to the day.

She showed good speed over this distance at the Vaal last time but was caught late by His Lordship.

The daughter of Erupt is a progressive type and Gavin Lerena may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

The in-form stable of St John Gray sends out Eiffel Tower in Race 8.

He found betting support when showing signs of a form return in his last start over this distance on the Vaal Classic course.

He has finished second once and third once from as many starts on this course.

The son of Potala Palace takes a drop in class and it is encouraging that Muzi Yeni sticks with the ride. He can return to winning ways in this field.

The Enchanting Currency Of Fate

It is eerie to think that there would have been no Siren’s Call, Sound Of Warning, or for that matter Call To Unite, had fate not decreed that Enchanted Cove follow her dam to South Africa, and that Peter de Beyer had the foresight to return Elusive Fort back home from the States as well!
