Robbie and his wife Kerri have put together a team of knowledgeable, passionate and dedicated professionals with over 50 years of combined experience.

They  are committed to creating an environment where all of their equine guests are catered to as individuals – from their work and play, to their feeding and special treats.

A place where horses can be horses!

This equestrian haven is conveniently situated 21km from Summerveld Training Centre, making it a short journey for horses coming and going.

The facilities, which include a sand canter track, hillside track and large flat work arena are ideal for keeping horses race ready.

Leckhampton Valley Spelling and Pre Training also facilitates rehabilitation post op, pre training, spelling along with wound management.

The quality of the team at Leckhampton Valley Spelling and Pre Training is top class and their professionalism ensures that the service provided is outstanding.

The team of work-riders is headed up by Themba Shem, who was coached by, and worked for David Payne for many years. He sets a high standard and under his careful tutelage his team of work-riders are exceptional.

Leckhampton Valley Spelling and Pre Training are very fortunate to enjoy facilities that allow them to keep horses racing fit, whilst they enjoy the benefits of the spelling lifestyle. A working holiday if you like!

The reduced cost of keeping horses in a spelling yard, coupled with the benefit of keeping them race ready, is proving a welcome option for many owners in the current economic climate.
