The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry that commenced at its offices in Johannesburg on Monday 10 February 2020 and concluded on Friday 6 March 2020, Mr Larry Wainstein was charged with contravening Rules 72.1.25 and 72.1.26.
The particulars being that he conducted himself in an improper manner whilst present in the Stipendiary Stewards’ Boardroom at Turffontein Racecourse on Saturday, 30 November 2019.
Mr Wainstein pleaded guilty to the charges and was found guilty of the charges.
The Inquiry Board imposed a penalty of a fine of R50 000, of which R30 000 is wholly suspended for a period of 36 months provided that during the period of suspension he is not found guilty of a contravention of Rules 72.1.25 and 72.1.26.
