The Pick 6 gets under way in the fourth at 13h40 and with a R250 000 carryover in the pool, an estimated pool of R 2,5 Million is anticipated.

The opening race is off at 11h55 while the last race is set for 16h30.

The Lady’s Stakes is a Non-Black Type event over 1200m for a stake of R80 000.

Gin Fizz ran a good race when taking on the males last time and the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging.

Jimmy The Rich writes that the daughter of Soft Falling Rain loves racing on this course with a record of one win and two second place finishes from as many outings.

Callan Murray steps back into the saddle this afternoon and from her good draw of three, she should be the one to side with.

The second feature on the day is the Listed Spring Spree Stakes worth R85 000 over 1200m.

This is a competitive contest and a few classy sprinters have a decent chance of winning. Urban Rock from the powerful Sean Tarry yard with stable jockey Lyle Hewitson is the narrow first selection.

He finished his race off well over this distance at the Vaal last time when finishing behind Marshall. Bohica who is a winner of his last two starts, finished 1.5 lengths behind Urban Rock that day and is 5kgs worse off at the weights.

The son of Seventh Rock is currently trading at 33/10 with Hollywoodbets and looks to be decent value.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
