KZN Trainer Championship Goes Down To Wire

First race is off at 12h25

Eight races are carded at Hollywoodbets Scottsville this afternoon. With four racemeetings, including today’s programme still to play, the 2022/2023 KZN season is drawing to a close and the Trainers Championship is heating up.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Garth Puller leads Gareth van Zyl by three winners.

Don’t forget about the free to play Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge with the first due off at 12h25.

Cue The Rebel from the Sean Tarry stable takes her place in Race 2. She ran a good race on debut over this distance at the Vaal.

She understandably raced green, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since.

The daughter of Querari would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

Trainer Mike Miller sends out Palm Breeze in Race 7. She finished 0.5 lengths behind Aspoestertjie last time.

She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this course and distance.

The daughter of William Longsword is likely to race on the speed and she may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.
