And it is Vodacom Durban July week, so the entire racing world will be there anyway.

The sale is scheduled just days before the running of Africa’s greatest horse racing event and has drawn together a catalogue of 291 yearlings from farms all over the country.

A major incentive is that graduates of the KZN Sale automatically qualify for the 2017 KZN Yearling Sale Million, which will be run on July day next year.

SA Derby hero, Seal

Former Gr1 SA Derby hero Seal, Gr1 Allan Robertson Fillies Championship winner Happy Valentine (a subsequent winner in France), recently retired Triple Crown hero Louis The King, dual Gr1 winning millionaire Same Jurisdiction, champion Virgo’s Babe – and a flood of other high class performers.

Recent impressive winners to have emerged from this sale include undefeated G3 Godolphin Barb Stakes winner Red Chesnut Road and smart juvenile winners He’s A Var, Announcing Rain, and Poster Girl.

Many of South Africa’s elite stallions are represented with all of Captain Al, Dynasty, Judpot, Kahal, Silvano and Trippi having one or more yearlings on sale.
