Gold Circle appear to have adopted a slightly lower key approach than Phumelela to the opening of racecourses with the easing of Level 3 restrictions.
Phumelela and the Racing Association announced earlier today that owners and guests would be permitted at Turffontein, Vaal and Fairview.
There was no word on the position in the Cape.
While there was no formal public notification – the public are still not yet permitted on course on raceday – the Sporting Post believes that as from Wednesday 1 July attendance to the KZN racecourses will be allowed solely to Owners, and Box and Suite Holders, subject to strict limitations and conditions, including plated meals only and no consumption of alcohol.
The Rockafellas Restaurant will be open at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Saturday. Diners will be restricted to 200 people.
Owners and box and suite-holders wishing to gain access to the racecourses on racedays are required to register in advance with the Gold Circle Members Department by telephoning the members office (031) 314 1994 or emailing [email protected], indicating the vehicle registration number and names of passengers.
Further notification is expected on the plans for Vodacom Durban July day.
