KZN Champ Is Well – But Striker Sees Price As Wrong!

The carryover Pick 6 starts in the fourth race at 13h55

Four odds-on favourite potential bankers are the key to winning the SplashOut Cape Derby Day carryover Pick 6 at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday.

The old combination is back – See It Again, Piere Strydom and Michael Roberts (Pic – Candiese Lenferna)

It will inevitably boil down to structure of the exotic bet. So go field, banker See It Again, Roccapina, Eight On Eighteen and Gimme A Prince, with field in the last. An easy game.

The Pick 6 carryover of R500 000 should deliver a pool of R3 million. The first leg is the fourth race, the Schweppes Fillies Classic, which is off at 13h55.

On Friday the Sporting Post chatted to Michael Roberts, who declared See It Again to be in good shape.

“He was so well after the Met, and it’s very hot in KZN at the moment, so we opted to stay on and take our chances in the COCT Listed Jet Master Stakes,” added the legendary former champion jockey who countered our suggestion that See It Again was a ‘pressure horse’.

“More frustrating, given the fact that he never pulls a decent draw! And on Saturday again he’s drawn widest. But he’s well and he is the best horse in the field,” added ‘Muis’.

He confirmed that his charge would be given a break after Saturday and then follow either the Drill Hall Stakes or Pinnacle, into his tried route via the Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge and into the Hollywoodbets Durban July.

Regular pilot Piere Strydom, who travels down from the Highveld for just two rides,  made some interesting observations in discussion with host Joao da Mata and Lance Michael in this Glistian Events Cape Derby Day panel podcast. It’s certainly worth a watch!
