There is some terrific racing on offer at Kranji in Singapore today.

Operations Manager for the Association of Racehorse Trainers in Singapore, Debbie Hawkins, and Gold Circle’s Warren Lenferna have kindly composed some notes for today’s Singapore meeting – first off at 12h20.

This is provided with thanks to them and to trainers Michael Clements and Mark Walker, who have commented on their runners.

Break a leg!

Stable thoughts from Mark Walker (2nd on the Trainers Log)

  • Race 3:

Ka Chance (8) needs a class 5.

  • Race 4:

Clarton Star (3) is better over more distance but has an eachway chance in a terrible field.

  • Race 5:

Yulong Edition (2) eachway chance.

Sacred Rebel (3) needs a class 3.

  • Race 6:

Lai Mac Mac (2) has a tough draw, but has a place chance.

  • Race 8:

Sacred Gift (5) is up in grade, but has an eachway chance.

Streetcry Success (6) is well drawn, and has an eachway chance at the odds.

Magnum King (9) has a tough draw, but a place chance.

Stable thoughts from Michael Clements

  • Race 6:

Prime Time (4) outside barrier but is well weighted in the race, young up and coming 3 year old, has got some good track form – returning from a break of 90 days and he has had a stack of work coming into this and is more than fit enough.  Unfortunately he does have an outside barrier, but he has raced ok recently from similar barriers, he will come under a patient ride from Louis Beuzelin and is certainly one of my better runners for this evening. He has a definite chance and in great shape, we are looking forward to this race with a winning hope.

  • Race 7:

Gingerella (6) very speedy filly, probably has not been suited to racing on the turf of late so we have switched her back to the Polytrack, it will be good for her, she is jumping from a good barrier. She is likely to be right up on the pace, I believe having her back on this surface will do her a lot of good. It is quite a strong race, she is a horse that has been winning in Class 2, she hasn’t been able to win in Class 1 yet, not an easy race on handicap for her but she trialled well recently, expecting her to put in a good performance tonight.

  • Race 9:

Royal Pavillion (3) he is a horse that comes from off the pace, is in pretty good form of late and has been knocking on the door. The horse to beat for him is (2) Mount Everest, who won his maiden last time stepping up into class 4 company against winners so that is probably a bit of an ask for him. Royal Pavillion has had some pretty good form of late in this class. He will be finishing strongly towards the end of the race, I also feel he is a 1-2-3 chance tonight.

The sad reality is that no matter who did what wrong, the Peter saga has been a scar on the SA horseracing landscape for far too long and besides the old favourite of justice delayed, it has lingered lengths ahead of KZN star Royal Victory’s big win in the 2023 renewal of the Highveld showpiece
