Kings Cup Heads KZN Card Today

First race is off at 12h20

Hollywoodbets Greyville plays host to an eight-race programme on the turf track this afternoon.

The first is due off at 12h20.

The main event of the day is the Listed Kings Cup over 1600m, where recent Fever Tree winner  Captain Fontaine  goes for a hat-trick as he steps up to a mile.

He is in a very good space and can go very close.

The improved Vercingetorix gelding Cape Eagle was an easy winner of his last three starts, the latest of which was the Listed Michael Roberts Stakes.

He has won twice and finished third once from as many starts over this distance. He has ability and merits healthy respect as a strong forward galloping type.

Don’t forget about the free to play Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge.

On the balance of the eight race card, Reach Forthe Stars takes his place in Race 3 and he is a possible Pick 6 banker.

He has produced two decent efforts to date. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was inconvenienced at the 400m mark and cast a shoe in running.

He would have come on from the outing and should love the rise to the mile. He is a progressive type and from barrier two, he should take a power of beating.

Trainer Carl Hewitson saddles Capriana in Race 8. She fly jumped leaving the start last time, but the manner in which she finished off her race was eye-catching.

The daughter of Toreador steps back up to the 1200m and if jumping on terms, she is capable of returning to winning ways.

A reminder that your free entry in the Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge closes at 12h15.
