Khan’s Coppola Can Direct Matters Today

First due off @ 12h13

It’s been a relatively quiet week for local horseracing but punters can look forward to today’s eight-race programme at the Vaal Racecourse.

The first is due off at 12h13 and the lucky last is set for 16h20.

Trainer Fabian Habib sends out Captain Jim in Race 3. He stayed on when third over 1200m on this course last time.

The son of Captain Of All would have come on from the run and should love the rise to the mile.

Gavin Lerena is booked to ride, and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Trainer Mark Khan saddles 8 runners at Vaal today (Pic – Candiese Lenferna)

Coppola from the Mark Khan stable takes his place in Race 7. He finished 0.5 lengths behind Warm Winter Nite last time.

He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

The son of Skitt Skizzle is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. He is likely to race on the speed and can go one better.
