New Name For Kenilworth Facility

Owner David Musikanth finds the winning name

The Kenilworth on-course owner facility has been christened on the eve of the Cape Guineas day on Saturday.

The newly refurbished venue is called ‘1881 Lounge’

Congratulations to owner  David Musikanth who came up with this thoughtful and powerful name.

There were some wonderful suggestions and we thank all who took part – it was near impossible to choose.

The first horse race run on Kenilworth soil took place in 1881. We felt the name 1881 not only brought in the history aspect, but also had a great ring to it. David Musikanth wins a complimentary lunch for himself and his family in the 1881 Lounge!
