R1,6 Million – The Projected Kenilworth Pick 6 Carrot

In black and white - all the Snaith runner comments

Three feature races and a Pick 6 carryover are the big attraction at Kenilworth today. The return of some decent quality horses in the features makes for a great day of racing under blue skies, after a few days of rain.

A R 250 000 reinvestment by TAB from the carryover pool basket boosts the Pick 6, which is off in the third at 14h30, to a likely mark of R1,6 million.

13mm of rain fell over Kenilworth in the 24 hours preceding Saturday morning and even though the weather is forecast as overcast conditions with rain, skies are clear with a strong wind blowing.

Justin Snaith currently heads the Cape trainers log with double the amount of winners (43) of that of his nearest stakes competitor, Candice Bass-Robinson.

The Snaith win strike-rate locally is 14%, with a place strike of 33%.

He marked our Kenilworth card for today:

Better run last time out and will relish the extra trip. Respect. Perfect Trust looks the standout.

  • Marydale (2)

  • Giacomo Puccini (3):

Better than his last run. Each way shout. Don’t leave out of any bets.

  • Double The Fun (4):

Should need this first run back after a long break.

  • Hurricane Harry (5):

In top form but handicapper has got hold of him. He’s game as they come and hard to exclude him.

  • Nexus (5):

Class sort on his day and can surprise. Include.

  • Lilac Sensation (6):

Upset potential.

  • Phil’s Dancer (6):

As consistent as they come. Include in all bets.

  • Queen Of Quiet (6):

Scratched

  • Sovereign Secret (6):

Just a prep run for the Cape Summer Season. Should be on the sharp side for her.

  • Bayberry (7):

In terrific form and must be a big runner.

  • Magnificent Seven (7):

Yet to regain his earlier form but can have winning claims if produces his best.

  • Orange Bitters (8):

Good comeback run last time out. Hopeful for a similar effort.

  • Sabina’s Prodigy (8):

Competitive field but hoping he can run into the money as will relish the extra trip.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
