Katjedi And Wright Okay After Tumbles

They are back on their feet

Just a week after Sean Veale came down at Hollywoodbets Durbanville following a stirrup leather break, apprentice Malesela Katjedi found himself on the emerald green turf in an unrelated incident when his mount appeared to try and hurdle the rail at about the 700m marker.

Riding Come On Spurs for Brett Crawford in the third race, Malesela fell heavily, but was thankfully soon on his feet.

He was reportedly walking around a half hour later and was expected to take up up his final engagement later today.

In a bizarre sequence of events, replacement rider Gareth Wright fell from Cosmic Event at the finishing line of the fifth race.

Cosmic Event appeared to possibly clip heels. Both horse and rider were on their feet immediately and seemed none the worse for wear.
