Kannemeyer Has High Hopes Today

The first race is due off at 12h15

Eight races are carded at Hollywoodbets Greyville on the polytrack this afternoon. The main event of the day is the Non-Black Type eThekwini Sprint over 1200m.

Don’t forget about the free to play Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge and the first is due off at 12h15.

Trainer Dean Kannemeyer sends out USA’s Hope in the feature.

He has good recent form lines to his credit and was running on when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The son of The United States is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe.

From his good draw of four, if adapting to the polytrack, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

Shavout from the Vaughan Marshall stable takes his place in Race 7. He did not settle in his last start over 2000m and understandably lacked a finish in the straight.

He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this course and distance.

The 5yo gelding has dropped to a competitive rating and from pole position, he may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

Jockey Deryl Daniels is not riding today. Richard Fourie replaces him on Wave Warrior (10) in the seventh race.
