JP Up To The Challenge Today

First race is off at 12h10

Fairview Racecourse plays host to a nine-race programme on the turf track this afternoon.

The main event of the day is the Listed Breeders Guineas and the first is due off at 12h10.

The revamped free-to-enter Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge was relaunched on Wednesday with new prize payouts formulae.

The popular competition is also now available on all local racemeetings, as well as Hong Kong and Singapore!

Besides the R5000 must-be-won prize which is allocated to the top 20 finishers on the leaderboard for every challenge racemeeting, the all-or-nothing 100% clean sheet jackpot prize will now be determined by the number of runners at the race meeting multiplied by R10 000 per unit, for all venues.

For example, there are currently 105 starters on the Fairview card today.  At R10 000 per starter, the jackpot prize will be R1 050 000!

Ekoria from the Gavin Smith stable takes her place in Race 7 and she is the best bet on the programme.

She has very good consistent form lines to her credit. She raced from a handy position over 1400m last time but found one too good in the form of Carbonado.

The form of that race has worked out well. The daughter of Futura would have come on from the run and will strip a much fitter horse. She tries the mile and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should return to winning ways.

Duncan McKenzie saddles Pomodoro Magic in Race 3 and she represents decent each way value. She caught the eye when shedding her maiden tag at just the second time of asking.

Despite racing green and ducking at the 100m mark, she still managed to notch up the victory. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since.

The daughter of Pomodoro takes a rise in class, but she has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
