Join The School Run With Riverton’s Lot 278

BSA August 2yo Sale - 22 and 23 August

The BSA August 2yo Sale will be held at the TBA Sales Complex in Johannesburg on 22 and 23 August.

Riverton’s Lot 278 is a filly by Jet Master horse Master Of My Fate, a consistently successful sire.

Already sire of Gr1 winners Sentbydestiny, Zarina and Equus Champion Tempting Fate, Master Of My Fate enjoyed another good season in 2023-2024.

Master Of My Fate ended last season fourth on the South African General Sires List, with his progeny winning 150 races in 2023-2024 and earning more than R15,588 million in prize money.

The sire was responsible for four black type winners of seven stakes races in South Africa in 2023-2024, with his flagbearers including Atticus Finch (Gr3 Betway Victory Moon Stakes), Joy And Peace (TAB East Cape Derby, East Cape Oaks), and Princess Izzy (Sweet Chestnut Stakes).

His daughter Splicethemainbrace was unbeaten in five starts last season and won all of the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery, Listed East Cape Nursery, and Listed Lady’s Slipper Stakes, with another Master Of My Fate filly, My Soul Mate, finishing second in the 2024 Gr2 Wilgerbosdrift Bridget Oppenheimer SA Oaks.

Master Of My Fate has built up a fine record as a sire of high-class fillies, with Master Of My Fate’s growing list of top-class daughters including such graded stakes winners as Basadi Faith, Indi Anna, Lady Of Power, Love Is A Rose, and Pretty Betty, as well as the aforementioned Gr1 winners Sentbydestiny and Zarina.

Riverton Stud, as agent, will be offering the well bred Master Of My Fate filly Trip Of Faith (Lot 278) at this month’s August Two Year Old Sale.

Trip Of Faith, whose first three dams were sired by Trippi, Royal Academy and Damascus respectively, is out of the twice winning Trippi mare School Run, a half-sister to the Gr2 placed dam of Gr2 WSB Premier Trophy/Gr3 Betting World 2200 winner Head Honcho.

School Run, in turn, is out of the dual winning Royal Academy mare She’s An Academic – whose sire, Royal Academy, is broodmare sire of more than 200 stakes winners including multiple champion sire Fastnet Rock, French champion Dabirsim, and classic winners Finsceal Beo and Rule Of Law.

Royal Academy is also sire of outstanding South African broodmare Mystic Spring, Equus Broodmare Of The Year in 2016-2017, and dam of seven stakes winners.

School Run’s granddam Damson is a Damascus three-parts sister to the Damascus sired Gr1 Hollywood Gold Cup winner and Gr1 Kentucky Derby Desert Wine – whose dual Gr1 winning half-brother Menifee ran second in the 1999 Gr1 Kentucky Derby.

This is also the family of numerous Gr1 winners including Albert The Great (Jockey Club Gold Cup), Congaree (Hollywood Gold Cup), Fasliyev (Prix Morny), Furiously (Jerome Handicap), Long Look (Epsom Oaks) Misty For Me (Irish 1000 Guineas), and U S Navy Flag (July Cup).

Multiple champion sire Jungle Cove is yet another star to hail from this prolific female line!
