Tar Heel wins the Listed Somerset 1200

Joey Ramsden’s Listed Somerset 1200 winner Tar Heel makes his season debut at Durbanville on Saturday. This will be his his first appearance since his shock odds-on defeat in the Cape Nursery four months ago and the next step in his bid for the R2,5 million Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cup to be run over 1400m at Turffontein on 31 October 2015.

Tar Heel is at second position on the log behind another Jooste-owned star in the unbeaten Rabada and his progress will be watched with his interest.

He has been entered in the Cape Classic as an optional next start.

The Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cup is restricted to eligible graduates of the 2014 CTS Ready To Run Sale, held on 31 October 2014.
