The R2,5 million J&B Met is the longest standing horse race in South Africa and is well known for its glitz and glamour. 2015 is no different as South Africa’s premier horse racing event, to be held on 31 January, promises to increase the ambience with the “Racing. It’s a Rush Public Village”.

Racing. It’s a Rush Public Village ticket holders will get in on all the action as the village is located on the Kenilworth Racecourse winning straight. Giving you the opportunity to watch a maximum field who will thunder down the straight to compete for the coveted title.

The village includes a Schweppes Racing. It’s a Rush Gig Rig in association with GoodHope FM, that will feature South Africa’s hottest house band Mi Casa, famous for hits such as Jika, Heavenly Sent, These Streets and Turn You On to name a few!

The multi-award winning house trio consisting of lead vocalist J’Something, pianist Dr Duda and trumpeter Mo-T, have opened for international artists such as Drake and Tortured Soul and have performed at music festivals around the world. Additionally, as Schweppes Racing. It’s a Rush Gig Rig partner, GoodHope FM will have a DJ line up to keep the crowds moving throughout the day.

The latest food craze, Cape Town’s Food Trucks, will also be there ensuring an upmarket experience that’s sure to suit all palettes.  A teaser for your taste buds includes Limoncello Food Truck, Sharmwa Express, Durban’s Finest Curry and Juice Deli.
