Jay Peg has a number of smart looking three-year-olds this season

Proven sire Jay Peg looks to have a well above average three-year-old on his hands in the form of Victorious Jay.

The latter made it back to back wins when scoring at Durbanville on Saturday.

Trained by Vaughan Marshall, the Hemel ‘n Aarde Stud bred colt was too good for promising Captain Al 3yo Eighth Wonder when landing the Darkhorsewheels.com MR 84 handicap over 1400m, in a time just outside the track record.

The promising Victorious Jay, who has now won three of his last four outings, is owned by Mr Ragoonath and Ms Joelle Ng, and looks to be on course for a run in the CTS $1 million race next January.

He is a full brother to the very talented Jay Peg son Zubbadubbadoo who has won four of just six outings, with Victorious Jay himself costing R175 000 at last year’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

Jay Peg has a number of smart looking three-year-olds this season, including the stakes placed Exit Here, Victorious Jay and She’s A Dragon, an eight length winner of her last start. Jay Peg’s success with his sophomores is illustrated well by the fact he rates currently ahead of such star sires as Dynasty, Judpot and Silvano on the Leading Sires of 3YOS list.
