This appointment was made in light of the imminent retirement of current General Manager: Racing Operations, Stan Diesel at the end of March.

“I would like to take this opportunity to extend a sincere thank you to Stan for 37 years’ of dedicated and selfless service and wish him well in his retirement,” said Racing Executive Clyde Basel.

“Jay brings with him a stellar track record of excellence in his career, coupled with a strong academic background and almost two decades of invaluable and extensive experience in the horseracing industry. I believe that Jay will be instrumental in assisting me to lead the Racing Division, which was recently restructured to include Hospitality and Events, to even greater heights and to re-affirm the status of our wonderful and exciting sport of horseracing.”
