An horrific accident in the fourth race marred the Greyville night racemeeting on Friday evening with jockey Jarred Samuel being thrown over the head of his mount Fly Away With Me, after the Jet Master filly appeared to clip the heels of an apprentice ridden horse, who crossed into her path.

While Samuel was rushed to hospital and is in an induced coma, sketchy details emerging from sources reveal that his brain scan was clear and that he has suffered a broken nose.
In a response to a flood of messages on Facebook, his girlfriend Trisha Dhipnarain wrote:
