International races in Singapore hot up

singapore-logoThree local gallopers have been supplemented for the two upcoming International races in just over two weeks time.

Group 2 Queen Elizabeth II Cup winner Fatkid will line-up in the Group 1 $3 million Singapore Airlines International Cup over 2000m while sprinters Amadeus Mozart and Powerful Ruler will contest the Group 1 $1 million KrisFlyer International Sprint over 1200m.

Both races will be run on Sunday May 22.

Fatkid, a four-year-old son of Handsome Ransom and trained by Tan Hor Khoon, is undefeated in two attempts over the 2000m course having taken the Group 3 Fortune Bowl in February prior to his success in the QEII Cup on April 29.

An eight-year-old Irish-bred entire, Amadeus Mozart will be the second runner from the Pat Shaw stable after he showed a return to form with victory over 1200m on April 29.

A member of the Brian Dean stable, honest campaigner Powerful Ruler was tried as a stayer last year but since his return to racing in February has been kept to the shorter sprint journeys.
