The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Cape Town on 11 July 2011, Jockey Glen Hatt, the rider of PARLIAMENT, was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to, and constitute a source of danger to, CHIPPENDALE and MR VINDALOO when he shifted outwards at about the 300m mark in Race 8 at Durbanville Racecourse, on 29 June 2011.
Mr Hatt pleaded guilty to the charge.
The Inquiry Board found him guilty and suspended him from riding in races for a period of three weeks.
Mr Hatt has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
