Inquiries and suspensions: Randolph, Schlechter

Jockey Stuart Randolph Suspended

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that Jockey Stuart Randolph was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of FANCY SOME FRENCH (AUS), he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners at approximately the 1200 metre mark in Race 9 at the Clairwood Racecourse on 8 December 2010.

Mr Randolph signed an Admission of Guilt and he has been suspended from riding in race meetings for a period of one week from 12 December to 18 December 2010, both days inclusive.

Inquiry – Jockey Gerrit Schlechter

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that Jockey Gerrit Schlechter appeared before an Inquiry Board on 9 December 2010 and was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, in that as the rider of EMMAJO, he misused his crop by striking Jockey Anthony Delpech, the rider of STATE BLUE, in the closing stages of Race 7 at the Kenilworth Racecourse on 4 December 2010.

Mr Schlechter pleaded not guilty.

The Inquiry Board found him guilty and imposed a fine of R2 000-00.

Mr Schlechter has the Right of Appeal against both the finding and the penalty
