There was a touch of the old and a lot of new about the Inglis Riverside Stables which were opened by Stuart Ayers, the Minister for Western Sydney, at Warwick Farm on Monday.
The new $140 million complex will become the centre for selling thoroughbreds in the country and will hold its first sale from Saturday. The Inglis sales company dates back to 1867.
Legendary racecaller John Tapp unveiled a three-metre high statue named The Yearling And The Leader, depicting a young horse with its strapper, which will greet visitors when they arrive at the complex that includes the William Inglis Hotel.
