Variety Club was named the 2012 Horse of the Year at the annual glittering Equus Award banquet
Horse of the Year and the 2012 Equus Award winners will be announced at the annual banquet on Thursday 8 August at Emperors Palace
Variety Club, a son of Var, won Horse of the Year, Champion 3yo colt and Champion Middle Distance in both the racing and breeding catergories, at the annual dinner on Friday at Kenilworth.
The 2012 Cape Racing & Breeders Awards will take place on Friday, 3 August at 6:30pm, Kenilworth Racecourse.
There were few, if any genuine surprises at the Highveld Feature Season Racing Awards, with Europa Point taking Horse of the Year
The unbeaten Frankel, who was electric on the racecourse throughout 2011, is tonight named Cartier Horse Of The Year at the 2011 Cartier Racing Awards. Owned and bred by Khalid Abdulla and expertly handled by Sir Henry Cecil, Frankel also takes the honours in the Cartier 3yo Colt category.
