SA racing YouTube channel Clocking The Gallop hosted live racing on Sunday from Borrowdale Park in Zimbabwe and the ‘soft’ launch was a great success on all fronts.
The Mashonaland Turf Club recently found themselves blacked out by Phumelela as a result of a financial dispute, but the ‘Television Twins’ Neil Andrews and Nico Kritsiotis, who are building their new platform with great enthusiasm and energy, have stepped in to assist.

Gary Carter, Chairman of the Mashonaland Turf Club said in a statement last month that following the implosion of Phumelela and the changing of the guard at the top of the organisation, the MTC has been working hard to come to a working arrangement that firstly recognizes the legacy issues between the two organisations but also provides a framework of how we could work together now whilst resolution is being sought on these issues.
Certain South African bookmakers and a UK recipient were receiving the Zim racing live stream currently.
A born and bred Zimbabwean, Clocking The Gallop’s Nico Kritsiotis said the media team were willing to assist the sport in his former homeland, and from any other destination for that matter, in any way they could.
“Sunday’s launch was arranged quite late and thus with no pre-hype or advance notice. It went off well in the circumstances and we will be hosting their final Borrowdale Park meeting on Sunday 30 August, before the annual six weeks break. We have some exciting ideas to add value and it can support an important international streaming outlet for Zimbabwe racing,” he said.
